After a sensational debut, Norman Gosney’s captivating art show, "Triggerines & Sentimentos," is back for two more unmissable dates!
This unique exhibition takes visitors on a whimsical journey through the world of small figurines, blending nostalgic charm with contemporary reinterpretation.
Triggerines & Sentimentos explores the enduring allure of small figurines, from the ancient "Venus of Willendorf" to modern-day pop culture icons. Gosney's work delves into the sentimental and often kitschy statuettes that once adorned the mantlepieces and wall units of generations, reflecting deep-seated attitudes and affections. His exhibition aims to re-contextualise these familiar figures, updating them to reflect contemporary sensibilities while retaining their original charm and function.
Gosney's artistic process involves recycling and renewing figurines found in dumpsters, charity stores, and jumble sales. By incorporating discarded figures from comics, advertising, and even Disney, he offers new interpretations of old dialogues, reinventing icons of the past in today's vastly different world.
Gosney's art breathes new life into discarded statuettes, transforming forgotten icons from pop culture, history and everyday life into thought-provoking pieces
Don’t miss your chance to experience this eclectic fusion of sentimentality and modern creativity on 11th and 18th October from 5 – 9pm.

After centuries of feeding the commercial art machines and international nightclub circuit of excellence, the one and only impressario, Bristol's own Norman Gosney has unleashed his unique creativity and humour onto the world of collectables and figurines.
From the palaeolithic 'Venus of Willendorf' to today's Marvel Comics $12B annual toy sales, we have been deeply attached to the ownership and display of small figurines. Whether religious, erotic, heroic, or just engagingly cute, the fascination with them continues to hold its power.
This show is the recycling and the renewal of figurines that are deeply embedded in our national psyche: those sentimental, nostalgic and often kitschy statuettes that came back from holidays abroad and trips to the seaside to take pride of place on the mantelpieces of generations fast disappearing.
They told stories that reflected deep-seated attitudes and affections, stereotypes of nationalities and imagined professions:
the ancient German cobbler, lovable Italian drunks on park benches, wistful old ladies with bunches of heather. Fantasies then, even more so now. Triggerines & Sentimentos is an attempt to update and re-contextualise these ornaments to reflect the very different sensibilities of the age we live in, while retaining their original function: to warm the heart, to reveal an attitude, to show where we've been, and to amuse.
